@rogermckinnon5738 Could you reference your data source for your claim of nuclear power increasing? France recently turned off two reactors because they couldn’t compete on price against renewables, as well just stating that Germany imports power from France is a gross over simplistic explanation of the EU power grid.

@rogermckinnon5738 You are off by a whopping whole 10 times the actual figure. The IEA states that worldwide nuclear power provides 413 GW. The 3% figure is a forecast figure, in reality, last year nuclear energy added just 0.3% to the grid according to the IAEA. The IAEA anticipates that 10 reactors will close per year from 2018 to 2050. The construction of new reactors simply isn't keeping up with the closures. In 2023 the IEA reported a net loss of nuclear power of 1.3Gw capacity whereas renewable capacity increased by 507Gw. The simple fact is nuclear is stagnating and renewables powering ahead, the data is undeniable. Nuclear accounts for 9.2% of global electricity whereas renewables are currently 30.2%. This isn't my data it is the IEA and the IAEAs the sources you quoted.
