Indigenous people weren’t after privilege merely recognition and you spat in their face

@WitchDoctor-m9s That was a disgusting act and she has been rightfully charged with assault. I was not commenting on that I was commenting on Credins words. I was clearly speaking metaphorically.

@truefactjack No you are wrong. Just a brief reading of the comments on this topic on YouTube proves beyond a shadow of a doubt racism and particularly hatred of indigenous Australians is well and truely ingrained. This was an opportunity for reconciliation and we have failed.

@Diponty Yes it is sad. I’m a white privileged man, so personally it won’t make any different to me, however I feel the country is somewhat diminished by not necessarily the No vote but by the level of the debate/discussion around it.

@truefactjack No, only in the YouTube comments as stated. I could back track and write out a list for you if you like. It will take some time though. That fact you believe there was no detail is an expression of your inability to find it. If you had read the two reports to the government the detail was there, you were just too lazy to look. An advisory body to government is under no obligation to be elected. Are the members of Reserve bank elected? Is the Chief of the defence force elected? Is the Chief justice of the high court elected? The fact you don’t understand any of the detail and are so ignorant of the proposed amendment explains to me why the No vote won.

@truefactjack Here is a report sent to the LNP government of the day the details the suggested structure of the voice. It took me less than 30 seconds to find by searching the internet https://voice.gov.au/resources/indigenous-voice-co-design-process-final-report

@truefactjack Yes they are some of the components of the Uluṟu statement. A referendum is not required for a Treaty. Neither is one required for a truth commission. Constitutional recognition did require a referendum as it is an amendment to the constitution. What are you finding difficult to understand in this discussion? A rejection of constitutional recognition in no way affects the government’s ability to negotiate a treaty. Why would you think that? A truth commission can easily be legislated, again what don’t you understand about the processes of federal government?

@truefactjack What exactly did he lie about? I’m interested as you said he clearly announced publicly his intention to act on the Uluṟu statement, and it’s contents had been known for years.
