@Cobber2023 Yes that is a turn of phrase and reflects an aspect of indigenous culture, however both the Mabo and Wik High court decisions proved conclusively beyond all reasonable doubt Aboriginal land rights and ownership. Nothing has changed. You are factually incorrect.

@echelon2k8 Factually incorrect and unless you can reference a legal opinion that has some validity you would be laughed out of any court in the land. Your opinion on the Mabo decision is worthless and one of these bush lawyer views. "Terra Nullius" was not a fiction it was a real law under the British and was used to appropriate land and was proclaimed by Governor Bourke in 1835. What is a fiction is that the land belonged to no one and that has been proven in the High courts beyond any reasonable doubt. This is historical fact.

@echelon2k8 No your opinion is wrong. Bourke's proclamation implemented the Terra nullius concept. I'll take my opinion from 6 to 1 High Court ruling. Not some backyard lawyer. Your opinion is so far out there on the fringe that it is considered nonsensical.

@echelon2k8 OMG, the Bourke proclamation clearly states the that NSW was vacant land. He declares any previous treaties void. The purpose of the document is to claim land as the Colony of the Crown and void any claim native aboriginals might have to the land by way of treaty. It is only your misinterpretations of the English language that is in question. By all means put your case together and take it up through the courts and completely change the history of the country. Do that, I'll wait.
