  25. All property damaged should be fined the cost of the damage to the looter directly. Place a lien on their car or house, garnish their wages and income tax, block them from getting licenses and motor vehicle registration. I bet that all this mess would stop cold. But the govt wouldnt do it bc they are too scared. This is America. There is A RULE OF LAW. We do not believe in anarchism, and the overthrow of govt. No govt and police don't always get it right. But what is the alternative? We see what happened when police are absent or lax. People cannot control/police themselves because everyone has different opinions/factions. The rule of law is the only thing that equalized/protects us. These communists/socialist ideals do not work in a nation of 330 million ppl of varying races, cultures, and ideologies. Our laws may seems antiquated to some but they allow our country to function in a measured expected manner. As a minority I can tell you identity politics DO NOT WORK. what's good for the goose is good for the gander. Period. Police imcluded. And we are striving to make that more perfect union everyday. However allowing businesses to be destroyed and looted because they are white owned and letting minority protesters go unpunished because they are mad or they cant help themselves or because they are black or whatever else excuse is the essence of "two sets of rules for different people" which is what they are protesting in the first place. Long story short, the govt has a job to do here...are you going to fulfill the law or will allow the law to be broken depending on who is breaking it? We can have the conversation about policing and racism all day long, but in a calm manner that respects the safety and security of all residents. I am vegond disappointed in the dallas leaders for allowing the looting and rioting and I hope tactics will change to ensure PUBLIC SAFETY.

  133. While I'm not a fan of chief u Renee hall, I feel the protesters are kinda just being a little ridiculous. They really don't care who it is they probably want everyone to step down. If you don't agree with everything they want, say and do they are gonna call for you to step down. But luckily they don't represent all the citizens or dallas but u know what they say....the squeaky wheel gets the grease. Its a few loud voices that are getting the attention and being heard. I would love for there to be some kind of system where citizens could vote or speak out on measures b4 they are implemented by a simple text alert. That way you can gage ALL citizens feelings about some of these things instead just the loud whiners. Make it easy and accessible so everyone can have their voice heard. No need to go to council meetings, advisory boards, take off work early or protest in large crowds. I'm sure the vast majority want solid changes but don't want government uprooted bc some ppl have hurt feelings or problems following the law and lawful orders. Why should the rest of the citizens have to deal with increased crime and lawlessness and the threat of property damage in our community every time someone gets upset or has a disagreement with police/authority/the law. As much as I'm tired of unlawful unjust police violence I'm also tired of the permitted anarchy in the streets. This needs to end. You can't burn down every establishment every time you feel slighted. Chief hall needs to work on this and make it known that it won't be tolerated.

  230. Chief hall is right. You can't win when ppl want you to lose. The protesters want her to lose they want her to fail so they can say aha I was right. They don't really care about less crime and safer streets...which if we actually did have less crime and safer streets we wouldn't need the police in our communities so much. Tell me the difference between dallas, detroit, chicago crime and Frisco, Allen, plano crime? All the cities are multicultural, diverse, etc. However there's a different mindset of the people who live there. If you think all cops are bad, every interaction or video is automatically set to think they are in the wrong....when the truth is MAYBE the citizen is in the wrong. If you are pro police and think EVERYTHING they so is right, you won't see the wrong they do we have to take the blinders off and look at the situation case by case. We have become so politically correct and "WOKE" we aren't even calling crime a crime anymore. Since when has anyone ever had free reign to burn down buildings and not be charged with arson? I mean its getting a little kooky now. And I can guarantee you if the city leaders continue to let theses vigilantes burn and destroy dallas you will have bigger problems than you gave now. Bc dallas will turn into Chicago where the officers stop caring, the residents stop caring, mass white flight will happen, schools will fail and get progressively worse, property values will go down and business will leave and its downhill from there. Ppl wont admit it, but good police and a feeling of safety prevent ALL of those things from happening.
