I would pay good money to have seen a Dunkerque in the hands of the Free Polish Navy, because the results would have been spectacular, plus given how hard it was to get De Gaulle to do anything useful with the Free French Navy it would have lot more useful. Besides the "De Gaulle doing anything other then going apoplectic" is all the more reason to give the Free Polish navy a Dunkerque.

Israel Hands Forces the Poles could have used to fight the Germans were stuck facing the Soviets incase of an attack weakening their capabilities in fighting the Germans, thiss became even worse when they got into a two front war with the Soviets in the east and the Germans in the west, the Poles were put in the same posistion as the Germans would find themselves in 1944 and 1945.

Israel Hands No it acutally was, the Germans attacked on the 1st of September the Soviets attacked on the 17th of September the Polish forces were still fighting at the time infact the Poles were still fighting to keep Warsaw when the Soviets attacked on the 17th, the Poles didn't stop fighting till the 6th of October, so they were enveloped in fact on the 21st of September, the Soviets and Germans signed a formal agreement co-ordinating their attacks in Poland.

Israel Hands Polish capabilities were hampered by the Molotov Ribbentrop pact which meant the Polish had to send forces to keep an eye on and guard against the Soviets.

Israel Hands I'm not sure where you heard that the Soviets didn't meet much resistance, the only cases i know of something like that happening is some towns that thought the Soviets were there to save them only to find out that the Soviets were not there as liberators but conquerors. Not sure what you mean by the Vistula front. As for Danzig i think war was always coming reguardless, the corridor and Danzig were just an excuse.

Israel Hands Right now i see your talking about the Polish "Plan West" which was hold the boarders and then fall back to the rivers. This plan was horrid from the start and lots officers actually said so at the time. Also the Polish Army was handicapped by the UK and France telling them not to mobalize the army to avoid provoking the Germans by the time the Poles did it was to late and while they would be able to mobalize more men the it was pretty much over bar the singing, if they had ignored the UK and France and mobalized when they did while not saving them but they could have held for longer. Also the Saar offensive stopped as they reached the Siegfried Line and a belief that the Poles were about to be defeated, this on top of a very defensive mindset by General Gamelin meant it pettered out. I recommend you watch these videos they might give you a different insight https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=17NArJ6wQqo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lKTbhC0s5xg

Israel Hands The Original attack was to be the 26th not the 24th of August and they stopped that attack after the signing of the Polish-British Common Defence Pact on the 25th, this ruined the German plans so they delayed till the 1st of September. Also on the night of the 25th and 26th of August, a German sabotage group that didn't know of the delay attacked Jablunkov Pass and Mosty railway stations. Also the Germans didn't ask about the Polish corridor till the 29th of August.
