Assuming that he actually understood what magnetic declination was, which he clearly doesn't, how does that even work on a flat Earth in the absence of a core?

Magnetic north. The geographic north pole does not.

@J-Woke "Where's the curve?" You're sitting on it. "And why is no one allowed in Antarctica?" They are - you can freely and readily book an excursion there right now. Why don't you? "Why is there never any longitudinal travel?" Is this serious? What on Earth are you talking about now? Last year I flew from London to Lagos. "Why can you see buildings dozens and dozens of miles away?" You can if you have a clear line of sight and if they are sufficiently tall or you are viewing from raised/higher ground. Using your 'logic', it should be possible to see Manhattan Island from Western Sahara. "Why can you see full mountain ranges from hundreds of miles away?" Because they are tall. And actually, you can't see them from hundreds of miles away. If the Himalayas stood in complete isolation upon an unobstructed plane, then use line of sight distance versus height, which is Distance (NM) = 1.23. sqrt(height(ft)). If the height in question is 29000 ft then the distance would be 209 nautical miles.

Spectra/spectro: radiant energy as exhibited in a spectrum. Oscopy: viewing of, normally with a scope. Container? Why are these people so proud of their ignorance?
