  1. Hitler abhorred socialism. He was a far right fascist. You are getting confused because the Nazi party were derived from the National Socialist German Workers Party - and the term was appropriated to lure supporters away from communist and left wing parties such as the Socialist Democratic Party. So the term "National Socialism" arose out of attempts to create a nationalist redefinition of socialism, as an alternative to both Marxist international socialism and free-market capitalism. Nazism rejected the Marxist concepts of class conflict and universal equality, both fundamental to socialism. It was nothing more than a misnomer.
