Why do you think Sunak has the idea of this policy? Could it be the 14 years of Tory government cuts to our Armed Forces? The British Armed Forces in 2010 were composed of approximately 178,000 personnel across the Army, Royal Navy, and Royal Air Force. Now in 2024, the total number of personnel has decreased to around 145,000. As for defence spending, in 2010 the spending is £36.9 billion and £48 billion in 2024. In real terms, the defence budget has been cut by approximately £15.3 billion from 2010 to 2024.

Oh onto a far-right trope, aren't you? Some councils may fly the Union Flag regularly, while others may do so only on certain occasions or not at all. You may choose to fly the flag at your homes, particularly during national holidays or events. Who is stopping you? Get over yourself!

@OneHobo At a far-right march of the EDL hoolies amongst you may be asked not to display the flag, but that is down to the local police. Shame is different from provocation, and if you don't know the difference, it is you that is the problem.
