Mogg clearly doesn't understand the relationship between the UK and EU, which can be put very simply: You want frictionless trade with the EU? Then you have to have regulatory alignment . You want regulatory freedom? Then you can't have frictionless trade with the EU . Is it that he doesn't understand it having been Business Secretary and "Brexit" Minister, or he is lying to the GB News viewers? Which is it?

It is not only the treacherous party he is part of, but the Government he has been in for a major part of the last 14 years. He was in the Johnson and Truss Cabinet during the crucial period of Brexit negotiations and implementation, and played an active role. He takes no responsibility for it's failure. Strawberries are not people! Farming products are not the concern of the Home Office. Didn't you vote to end the freedom of movement of people, goods, and services? Border checks on goods is the taking back control of borders that you voted for. The checks on goods coming in today are the "non-tariff trade barriers" that Johnson promised was not going to happen.

Isn't it ironic that J. Rees-Mogg is using "Remoaner" arguments to convince GB News viewers that the Tory Brexit is "an act of economic self-harm"? Yet before June 2016 he was convincing us of "cheaper food, clothing, and footware" when we left the EU. Last year he was saying if we have a labour shortage of fruit-pickers, import more fruit from the EU. Now the cost would be too high, and the customs checks too troublesome to import. J. R-M is a deluded man-child. When exactly when does his £360,000 per year GB News salary become unsustainable? He is a shill for the billionaire oligarchs that promote deregulation, low taxation, climate change denial, and misinformation.

Explain how a disasterous Brexit would be more successful if it was under harsher terms: tariffs on all goods imported and exported; customs checks both way that start today. As for tariffs they are relatively low on most goods in the EU, but there is a 10% rate on cars and car parts.

As for your other point: were you one of those that voted Concservative in 2019? It seems you voted for what Lord Clarke said was moving towards an "elected dictatorship" . Voting for someone who purged 21 Tories from the party, proroged Parliament, and lied to the Queen because he seems like a "fun guy" really deserves everything they get, which is up to 14 million people. However, we never get what we vote for, and what we vote for we never get.

It was a two-pronged attack on living standards and promoting profit accumulation of the capitalist class whilst getting working class voters on board with the promise of prosperity, jobs, and higher standards of living . What is the evidence for increase prosperity, jobs, and higher standards of living? AUSTERITY. The austerity measures from 2010 onwards was a political choice for which the electorate voted for more of the same in 2015, 2017, and 2019. Basically, the right-wing parties like UKIP, Brexit Party and Reform UK sided with the essentially "MORE AUSTERITY" wing of the Conservative Party in the Brexit debate, as it continues to side with them on and the billionaire oligarchs on promoting deregulation, misinformation and climate change denial. It is nothing less than sadistic populism to keep voting for a government that cuts public services, and not expect a crumbling broken Britain. Nigel Farage's question is pertinent: how did we get into this mess ? But he potions blame elsewhere.
