Calling Sir Keir Starmer a “traitor” is a divisive and, frankly, damaging label that doesn't foster productive discussion about his policies or the future of the UK. Disagreeing with his views or approach is one thing – healthy debate is the foundation of democracy. But using loaded terms like “traitor” isn’t helpful; it only drives people further apart. True patriotism isn’t about attacking political opponents with inflammatory language. It’s about caring enough to have real discussions about what’s best for the country, even if that means calling out those on “our side” when they go too far. Criticise his policies all you want – by all means, express dissent. But let’s keep the conversation grounded in facts and respect, rather than undermining the unity and respect our country deserves. Division and anger won’t lead to the progress we all want, no matter our political stance.

The more unkempt his hair, the more trouble he is in or hoping to get out of.

@bengoodhind8595 The truth doesn’t hurt when it’s delivered thoughtfully and backed by reason. What concerns me is when opinions are framed with labels meant to provoke rather than foster understanding. Healthy debate can lead to progress, but only if it’s built on mutual respect. Let’s try to keep the discussion on policies and ideas so we can genuinely explore what’s best for the future of our country.

YOU WANT ZERO INCOME TAX AND YOUR COUNTRY BACK! What a selfish little man; go and live on a another planet, spare us your vanities, and leave us alone.

@bengoodhind8595 I appreciate your … erm … passion, but calling fellow citizens “traitors” simply for holding different opinions only deepens divisions and harms the democratic process we all cherish. The freedoms we commemorate on Remembrance Sunday weren’t secured so that we could label one another with such terms, but rather so we could debate openly, even in disagreement, and work toward the best for our country. Let’s honour those who gave their lives for our freedom by respecting one another's right to speak our minds without resorting to inflammatory language. I’m here for genuine discussion about policies and ideas because I believe our country deserves constructive debate – not divisions created by hurtful accusations.

Why don't you watch it?

Vile, divisive false patriot.

People like you, who voted in 2016 to economically cripple the country, strip citizens of their freedoms, and turn Britain once again into 'the sick man of Europe,' have the audacity to call others traitors.

Bring you evidence that Starmer is controlled by WEF as you might seem to think. I'll leave the traitor part until later. FACTs please!

Reform UK supporters are out in force on this thread, bringing a wave of negativity, unpleasantness, and unsubstantiated claims. The comments are rife with misinformation, malicious humour, and, overall, a sense of dodgy views from questionable individuals.

It's concerning that many who support the populist right seem so focused on negativity. Rarely do we hear a positive vision for the future – just one built on division and exclusion. The constant negativity is fed by radical right-wing figures who prey on insecurities, paranoia, and misinformation. This leads to extreme reactions like labelling people ‘traitors,’ scapegoating vulnerable minorities, and spreading false conspiracies – such as the idea that the WEF controls governments or that white British citizens are becoming ‘second-class.’ Meanwhile, many continue to vote for politicians who are actively working to strip away hard-won rights, like labour protections and human rights, by pushing to leave the ECHR. It’s as if this movement has become less of a political ideology and more like a radical right-wing cult.

Not very pleasant, aren't you?

@bengoodhind8595 Are you suggesting that calling Starmer a “traitor” is as valid as expressing a differing political opinion? Labelling someone a traitor goes beyond sharing an opinion – it’s a serious legal accusation. Unless supported by concrete evidence, it isn't grounded in fact but rather reflects personal resentments or political ideology.

@stevencarter87 Insults are the last refuge for someone has nothing meaningful to say. Think what your beloved "Tommy" might say?

@bengoodhind8595 Are you suggesting that making the winter fuel payment means-tested instead of universal is somehow tantamount to treason? Let’s look at this critically. Means-testing the winter fuel payment is simply a policy decision aimed at ensuring limited resources reach those who most need them. While you might disagree with this approach, labelling it as “treason” doesn’t hold up under scrutiny. Treason is a serious accusation involving betrayal of one’s country, not adjustments in public spending policies. As for your point about “young illegal men” in hotels, this language is heavily influenced by hard-right Populist rhetoric rather than by factual evidence. Many of these individuals are asylum seekers who are legally entitled to protection under international law, waiting for their cases to be processed. The idea that they’re “illegal” before due process even occurs disregards basic principles of justice and fair treatment. Let’s focus on a balanced and evidence-based conversation instead of relying on inflammatory language. Encouraging clear, fact-based dialogue is essential, especially on complex issues like welfare and immigration.

Good English is patriotic. Distract, divert and divide is what you right-wingers do.
