  2. Well that was fine and dandy as long as the post WWII situation remained with all the industry and money in the US and the US as the only money show in town. The US was far too greedy though and now it's been written out of the play. So without the income from empire there is no layer of fat for the vast herd of braindeads in the US. Of course if the military spending was reduced the US could keep those people in jobs and luxury but the military has metastasised and is priority No.1.
