Marx foresaw the capitalism nightmare that exists in the US where the capital has separated itself totally from the means of production, provides no jobs, and immunises itself from market risks through derivatives.   21. So how many people would have to burn to death every year to get people to sign up? Would it be cost effective to send a film crew to capture the burning people so the footage could be used in advertisements for the fire brigade or could that be bought cheaply from a TV station. What if fires are down, maybe get the building regulations relaxed or put up the rates. Maximising shareholder value is the name of the game after all.

  23. The US is a wartime economy. The big US corporations couldn't survive without the massive payouts and protectionist nonsense supported by both the Democrats and Republicans. US military spending is the highest it's ever been and is never going to be cut. The mentality of living off the state tit rampant in Boeing and GM contaminates the banks and other corporate idiots.
