Karzai is a good person. He’s a feminist, he advocated for democracy and secular government. He in my opinion did a good effort in tough circumstances. He now acts as a moderating force against the Taliban regime

@charlesmartin1121 we should consider the context of Karzai’s words. He is speaking inside a regime that is dangerous and oppressive. His words would probably be less pro-Taliban if the government was still in power. I don’t believe he stated here that the US was wrong to enter Afghanistan, or that the US killed Afghans indiscriminately. He asked the US to assist the 40+ million Afghan people, who were US allies for 20+ years, as recently as a couple months ago. I think that’s a fair request to ask. The US may be hesitant to give any support to the Taliban state, but it’s still a fair point to ask the US to help the civilians with money, aid, etc. If the US can or would re-enter Afghanistan, I’m not sure what will be done differently once they smash the Taliban’s standing forces. Perhaps the US will not stay long next time

@RachmadaniFAG what fancy equipment does the Taliban have? I thought it was nothing more than a few Humvees and soldier scrubs
