  1. Some ice breakers have the propeller in front when breaking ice. But when moving through open water the propeller is pushing primarily because ice breaking bows ride real bad when moving through open water.

  2.  @sawyerawr5783  When I saw the video of the icebreaker I described my thoughts were, "It sounds great if you can make it work." And "I would have gone with great honking trash pumps and squirted the water in whatever direction was most useful at the moment."
