Also there were plenty of German, Italian, and Japanese in the American military in WWII some even went back to their native lands after the black fascist were defeated. So Adolf immigrating to Germany and inlisting in their army is not a big surprise. If Austria had been an independent principality when Germany unified it almost certainly have been part of Germany but it was and is not.
