Well as he says she WAS completely worn out by that stage, and far bigger and more famous warships had sadly gone the same way before her and others would after her, just seems to be the way with these things unless they're lucky enough to get purchased by a group with enough money and determination to preserve them. I'm happy to report two other British frigates of the era WERE preserved though :) HMS Trincomalee in Hartlepool and HMS Unicorn in Dundee

GOD SAVE THE KING

@albundy9597 the ones before him weren't, it's the crown and the throne and the history they stand for that matter not whoever happens to be wearing said crown and sitting on said throne

@albundy9597 oh agreed, there's nothing beautiful or noble about senseless bloodshed. I am patriotic to some extent myself, I've no problem with waving the flag on special occasions and so on and do have pride in my country's past achievements and indeed in our military history which my own family was very much part of for several generations, but I wouldn't say I'm a royalist exactly (Parliament runs the country, the kings and queens are basically just figureheads now and frankly that's how it should be, the tradition shouldn't be cast aside though as it IS part of who we are as a people), and I've certainly no desire to somehow bring back the old Empire or stuff like that. Been to Germany myself, loved it there, the Rheinland in particular, beautiful place

@albundy9597 as for what had the king done for us, that particular one, George The Third? Not a lot positive truth be told, but at the time it was very much "ours is not to reason why". Other kings and queens before and after him had done plenty of important stuff for their country though, AND plenty of others were just as mad, vain and useless, people are and always will be imperfect fallible things whatever their rank haha; 'The Crown' though is a British and in particular English institution and a set of ancient traditions, part of it's history and culture that shouldn't be forgotten or cast aside just because the monarchs are no longer in unquestioned control of life and death throughout the land
