That wasn't a Queen's Guard, or King's Guard as they should now properly be known, the guy that collapsed was an old-timer from one of the ceremonial bodyguard units, the Royal Company Of Archers I think

@xDAZZE I dunno, Britain beat the crap out of China in both Opium Wars
5
We shall see about that won't we
3
@kidpambele2233 maybe look up Portuguese history there sometime
2
@zesty1285 absolutely. What I want to know is where the hell the police were, hell where the ARMY were, when that was going on, and for that matter where the silent majority, all the ordinary British people who disagree with these cretins were? Statues and monuments can't defend themselves

@AB-sr3yv yeah and I'm sure neither you nor 'Rambo' there are in any way biased here by being Iranian at all
1
Edward Tay yeah suuuure

Edward Tay any artillery piece the Chinese have capable of that will be big enough, close enough and obvious enough to be targeted and destroyed by a Taiwanese counter-strike, by their aircraft, missiles or their own artillery, and that's without the US, Britain or the rest of the anti-Chinese world even helping

@Jay J damn right

@fangyuanzhu7771 nukes don't matter, frankly, not in this situation. MAD, Mutually Assured Destruction- no-one who has them is ever prepared to actually use them because they know the other side has them too, and they know that firing just one will be the end of not just both their countries but the world as we know it, so no-one with any sense ever actually WILL except as an absolute last resort. China will certainly never use theirs merely to succeed in taking Taiwan

@newhorizons9623 and I'm from Britain, have just applied to join the Royal Navy and I hope we come to help in that fight too
1
simon askew which is why I frankly think, if no-one in the outside world's actually gonna come to help directly, we should at least give the Hong Kongers weapons so they can start fighting back for their city themselves while they still can
1
@katemakeup agreed
1
@stephenchristian6231 that and, y'know, this whole virus thing
1
@stephenchristian6231 and the immigrants and muslims and so on
1
Reuel T agreed, although it WOULD be possible for the Chinese to get close enough to attack Taiwan itself that way- but in doing so they'd immediately expose their artillery to counter-attack by equally in-range Taiwanese weaponry
1
Muddles Jamz damn right, Brit here who backs Taiwan and HK all the way
1
@olefella7561 what the heck has your opinions or those other people's opinions on imperialism or slavery got to do with "a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do"?! And Rushdie was talking out of his arse, Britain gave up the Empire when it didn't have to, abolished slavery when didn't have to, fought to make OTHER countries give up slavery too when it didn't have to and, oh yeah, SAVED THE DAMN WORLD FROM THE NAZI'S, any "stain" we ever had has been thoroughly cleansed by our subsequent actions, whether you want to admit to that or not
