  1. Isn't that Clark guy the one who nearly started an ACTUAL direct war between NATO and Russia back in the 90's during the Kosovo conflict when he WAS the NATO commander, trying to stop Russian forces landing at an airport there using British paratroopers or something, and was only stopped by a British general outright refusing to follow his orders on the grounds of not wanting to start WW3?

  2.  @1chish  thought as much :) half this comments section loves him now of course for his hard-line stance on Russia, and it's hard to blame them, but back in the early 90's with the Cold War only barely and recently brought to a peaceful end? Clark must've seemed like a raving lunatic to still be wanting any excuse for confrontation and the chance of glory in battle against the reds, a real-life "Colonel Kilgore". As I understand it he wasn't just dismissed but rather hurriedly removed from his post as supreme NATO commander altogether not long after that, and it's easy to see why

  3. What exactly SHOULD we British be doing that we haven't either already done or are in the process of doing? Hmmm? I think the response has actually been refreshingly strong for once, a bit of Churchill or Thatcher's spirit to it, showing that we won't just lie down and take this shit but will actually say and do something, and short of actually starting a war there's not a lot else we CAN do
