  1. The British Army does not have snake tongs... not going to make it in the desert. A shotgun also works, if you have it. When I was a kid, I would chop the heads of rattle snakes with a shovel. Kids nowadays would probably chop their own toes off and then get snake bit, so they should not attempt it.
