Your argument would be valid IF the US attempted an invasion after the Korean War and before the DPRK acquired nukes. Other then that the DPRK has always proven to be the aggressor, how many times has the US and South Korea threatened to vaporize and or turn Pyongyang "...into a sea of fire" compared the DRPK threatening the ROKs existence? If anyone actually needs nukes as a war deterrent it would be South Korea.

@penguinpingu3807 The DPRK has literally said they have thousands of guns pointed at Seoul and have literally used the words "turn it into a sea of fire". They also openly launched artillery strikes on South Korean islands without provocation. When was the last time the ROK attacked the DPRK? When was the last time the ROK and the US sent aide to the DPRK, when has the DPRK ever sent aide back? Okay, we get it you're anti-US you can move on, you've received pat on the head for the day. Congratulations. The US hasn't threatened DPRK in any way other than that it'll protect ROK. The DPRK sees the US as occupiers of the South because they're jealous of how successful the US has made the ROK and view them as an obstacle to being able to militarily take over the ROK. the DPRK has literally been the aggressor on the peninsula and their excuse for a nuclear deterrence is a joke.
