  1. it's very simple to pump hydrogen instead of natural gas through the pipe networks - hydrogen is made from processing natural gas during steam reformation. I'm pretty sure all natural gas is steam reformed anyway. Maybe they'll use less additives when they change over to hydrogen! more to the point though, I think they should use electric more and stop supplying gas as it's better on the environment! I mean everything is going electric anyway!

  2.  @richdobbs6595  With current fracking techniques, i can imagine all natural gas is steam reformed to some degree. Regardless, it seems they could easily steam reform all natural gas and make hydrogen, add some stuff to make it safe to burn in the homes, then voila!!
