It pains me to attack the BBC as I have always supported them and still support the idea. Unfortunately they have succumbed to the disease that plagues journalism in general; the journalist is more important than the story. You cannot hold the moral high ground when you engage in illegal acts to further your personal career or political ideology.

@anderander5662 Same here. I draw no comfort from attacking the BBC, I would happily pay my licence fee if they returned to their roots.

He is responding to the report released by an enquiry set up to examine the BBCs conduct in this matter.

@seanpushor909 You clearly don't understand how systems work. There are many legitimate reasons for journalists to hold fake documents; to allow them to penetrate an organisation or give additional credence to someone who has penetrated an organisation for example. The craftsmen (and women) who produce such items will not necessarily know what the particular document is for at the time it is manufactured. They take it as read that there is a legitimate AND LEGAL case to make it. If they later learn that an item they produced was used for a potentially illegal purpose, what else are they supposed to do?

@andyb7963 Did he know something was wrong at the time, or with hindsight? Even if he did know at the time he is still not as guilty. The boss is in a position of power and therefore carries greater responsibility to ensure that any actions comply with the law.
