can you kill someone with a stray brick from a block away? Can a kitchen knife go off and kill someone in the living room?
1
so when you get pulled over for a busted tail light, you going to train your plastic gun on the officer who pulled you over?
1
hamburger guns that fire meat bullets

if zip guns aren't legal why should these be?
1
so not passing a law would allow bad guys to print off guns all day long with no worry about punishment? Yeah... that's a good idea
1
same way we have laws about counterfeiting. Just because anyone can do so with a printer doesn't mean we throw the laws out
1
by your argument everyone would be printing up dollar bills rather than going to work because, you know, how are we going to stop them from destabilizing our currency with their phony money?

plastic man

Counterfeiting is easy to do as well thanks to modern printers. Should we - following the logic of the anti-gun control crowd - just throw out counterfeiting laws since criminals will just be printing up Benjamins in their basement?
1
are zip guns legal?
1
tell that to the 2 year old in Kentucky or those 19 shot on Mother's Day. And you fail basic stats and probability. The likelihood of car accidents is higher because cars are owned and used far more by the general population than guns so logically the chances are higher but that doesn't mean they are more dangerous than guns quantitatively.
1
because they are even in Texas
1
guns are more dangerous than cars because unlike cars they have little purpose other than being fire at something or someone. They were designed as weapons of war first. With cars, guess what, genius? We did boatloads of regulations to make cars safer than they originally were and statistically fatalities have gone down compared to the number of drivers on the roads

personally I'm not worried about a criminal using one of these or even that many crazy people using them as they are highly prone to fail and don't put out a lot of rounds. My concern is the number of stupid injuries and accidental deaths that will arise out of this. Plus I take issue with the pro-gunners who suggest that we should just throw out all gun regulation since guns can be churned out on printers. The same can be said about dollars but we still make that illegal
1
the free market ain't free, dearie. Just like zip guns are illegal most places so will this most likely be as well with NRA approval since there's no money in it for them or their bosses the gun manufacturers.
1
criminals haven't had a problem getting guns because 1) if they don't have a record, they can buy one legally; 2) have someone buy one legally for them; or 3) just steal one from the countless number of gun-owning homes. There's not going to be much of a demand for this plastiky thing when there are real guns all over the place. My issue is with the pro-gunners who think this printer gun means we should just throw gun regulations out the window.
1
wait...what? I swear everyone within a short radius of any of your posts loses brain cells as a result of the emanating stupidity. And yes I'm insulting you so save me that victim response. Anyway try to rub what few brain cells you have left & realize that if there is no law against making & selling such guns that can be used for criminal purposes then there is no deterrent. It's like counterfeiting. We have laws in place to deter rampant counterfeiting while punishing those who break it

lol! you 'mericans make me laugh with your misguided uneducated patriotism
1
because gun control is not just concerned with murder. Do you not understand that? By their very nature, guns are more dangerous than many objects particularly the ones you mentioned. This is why people want not only stronger background checks but many would also like that people demonstrated they have the knowledge and skill to use and store a firearm.

what could happen is the NRA&pro-gunners go their separate ways. Many pro-gunners see 3D guns as an excuse to chuck out gun laws saying they are pointless now and some of them like the "Liberator" creator think 3D guns=liberty from govt oppression which wants to git their guns! Meanwhile the NRA shills will be deadset against it because it means no profits for the gun makers and thus no kickbacks for them. They could care less about "liberty" if there is no profit in it for them.
