watch - they'll soon start complaining that the media is dragging this out whereas they had no problem dragging the beaten-to-death horse of benghazi for ages.

Tina Wolfowitz republicans of 1860s were progressives not conservatives. As usual conservatives lack basic comprehension skills to understand that a political party's name does not make them liberal or conservatives - it's their words and actions which do.

LaughingMan17 no you're missing the point that you're wrong about the IRS scandal. See the problem is Fox makes a talking point and will continue throwing it out there even when it's wrong but by that time it has convinced the gullible like yourself that it is true.

Jesse Wright Most of the South had been historically Democrat since Andrew Jackson but in the mid-20th century as liberal democrats began championing civil rights there was growing discontentment in many southern democrats. When Johnson signed the Civil Rights Act in the 60s many southern democrats were livid. The Republicans began to court them and by 1980 most of the south was staunchly Republican. Today they press this idea that they have always been Republican and that it was the democrats who were for slavery and against civil rights but they fail to understand or be honest that those people were basically them and their ancestors.

Tina Wolfowitz wow, difference of opinion is one thing but it is hard to be respectful of an opinion grounded in stupidity and sheer ignorance of basic facts. The slavery defenders of pre-civil war south, the lynchers and KKK of the post-war south - they didn't magically disappear when a Democrat president signed the Civil Rights Act. They didn't go anywhere. They and their descendants still live in the same place. They just switched party allegiance when the Republicans courted them in part of their Southern Strategy. Those new republicans have always been and more likely will always be conservative or more accurately anti-progressive as they and their ancestors have always been.
