Comments by "Ronin Dave" (@RoninDave) on "CNN's Wolf Blitzer On-Air Argument With Activist Deray McKesson" video.

  1. Blitzer is so disingenuously thickheaded. If there weren't riots would they be giving this kind of attention to Baltimore? They ignored Occupy Wallstreet until there were confrontations. It's unfortunate that it takes property violence to get national attention. In this case the agent provocateur actually aids the cause because they bring that attention that otherwise would be lacking. The problem is of course that it gets out of control and usually it's the poor people in the community who suffer as a result. But as for how the protests look in the media, why bother trying to get Fox or even CNN on your side and report you fairly? They're not. Unless you're a tax-evading federal government-hating conservative, Fox is going to demonize your protest no matter how peaceful or legitimate it is. They had their minds made up before the first stone had been cast. There's no point in trying to win them over even to a neutral position. CNN is so weak and afraid of being called liberal news by Fox&friends they have adopted this faux neutral stance rather than a truly objective one. They'll focus more on the violence acting disingenuously surprised by it in contrast to Fox's "I told you so" approach and they'll give less attention to the underlying issues. So basically whether your protest is peaceful or not, you're damned either way. If you're peaceful, you won't get attention. If there are violent people in your group you will be demonized. Might as well use the latter to push the agenda forward and ignore bullshit distracting questions from the likes of Blitzer. (However on a side note, I'd record all the vandals and expose the agent provocateurs. Get them arrested as private citizens for vandalism and instigating.)
