  1. It is vitally important to deny Russia the ability to threaten and undermine democracy, not just in Ukraine but in many parts of the world. We have seen their army of trolls on social media inflaming discontent sowing division and spreading misinformation. This tactic has had some effect in the outcome of various elections in the West. The constant looming threat causes various countries to divert funds which would otherwise be spent on healthcare, education and other social supports, to defence. This war is not just about Ukraine it is about all our futures, the future of democracy.
