This was so unnecessary! The officer should've identified himself, but didn't! If I was that citizen, I would've attempted to defend myself, too! Prayers to the victim's family.

Give me a break! The defense is grasping at straws! The jailhouse calls all have disclaimers that they're being recorded and can be used against him!🙄
145
PR but doesn't know all the posted signs that state NO PHONES means no phones in the court room?!
33
There's NO way Derek Chauvin can get a fair trial now! You'd have to live in a cave to not have heard about it!
26
When you completely trust someone you love, it's very easy to overlook the signs.
23
First, it should never have been settled before the criminal trial! Second, the city of Minneapolis is insane for awarding that kind of money!
20
I think there's reasonable doubt.
17
Charlie Brown Not at all! But someone who participated in BLM protests should have been up front about it. Stand TALL and proud, but should've then been excluded from the jury. I heard a potential juror get excused because she had connections to law enforcement. So is that fair and equal treatment. Man, the only race that counts is the human race. We all bleed red!
16
Dear Lord! I do NOT believe this case involved RACE as it occurred! After the fact, it started a conversation that needed to be had, but the encounter these officers had with George Floyd was not racially motivated!!!
14
Short and to the point! Cut and dry! IMO. His own daughter's testimony about the time of night he got home, the unordinary late night shower, the bleach smelling laundry going so late AND the one-of-a-kind graphic arts t-shirt she designed found with the victim's dna... it may be circumstantial, but it seems like a done deal to me! Bless his wife and daughter! What a traumatic experience to endure! RIP Molly!
12
@goose7574 Agreed. Nobody and I mean NOBODY should be able to profit off George Floyd's death. That $27 million civil settlement is absurd! I wonder if GF ever even paid child support for his kids. But I especially take issue with a juror OR a witness to make money from this case. Just my opinion.
12
I hope and pray that Lori and Chad do not get away with the deaths of all those close to them.
11
Charles Vallow's sister, Kay Woodcock, also the grandmother of JJ, asked for a welfare check early on and that's what got police involved in the kid's disappearance or it may have taken a very long time to come to light.
11
At the least, the 7 seated should be questioned and remainder of time sequestered.
10
Attorney Blackwell was out of line when in he kept saying "I don't want to confuse the jury" while cross-examining defense witnesses. To continually state the defense was telling a "story," should've been sustained. "Shading the truth." This is prosecutorial misconduct!
10
💯% agreed!!!💔🙏

Insane!

OMG! I've never heard of this case so I took your advice and looked it up! That body cam video is shocking! Those LEOs cracking jokes and making fun of that man is appalling!😯
9
Eric Nelson is doing his job.
8
Doesn't wanna look like a fool being called out in front of America.
8
Just great! Not all the facts are known yet and they're gonna make a movie? What kind of trial can they have if Hollywood is allowed to do this?
7
Great performance to me! You go girl!👏
6
I heard in opening statements, I think, that he had a separate cell phone just to use to communicate with his mistress that his wife knew nothing about.
6
I just read an article saying the officers had "qualified immunity. " Just wow!
6
I think they need to offer Morries Hall immunity for the greater good of this case!
6
The Tony Timpa case was despicable! Those officers cracking jokes, laughing and mocking a man while he was dying/dead after HE called them himself for help is unimaginable.
6
Were we watching the same opening statement? I thought she was a perfect story teller. If I were a juror, I'd be on the edge of my seat.
6
Yes, her body was left on the side of a dark road beside her car. He was on the phone with her the entire 22 minutes it took her to go from her home to that remote location. There was a tire track left in the mud near her car which matched his right rear tire. A passerby saw him at the scene. He threw his blood-spotted custom made t-shirt along with her cell phone further down the road. He told police he was at a friend's and got home at 8:30 p.m. , but his teenaged daughter said it was 10 p.m. when he got home. He uncostumarily parked his dust-covered vehicle in the garage. He took a shower when he got home which wasn't his usual routine and he started a load of bleach filled laundry that night, too. Lots of circumstantial evidence that was just too much to overcome.
6
@goose7574 Now that it is a done deal, I honestly pray his kin folks use that money to better themselves. His drug dealer, Morries Hall, had an impromptu interview at a protest following the verdict and he said he planned to get his life together and do good. Everyone deserves a second chance. So I sure hope he follows through on that.
6
I'm afraid if this happened to my daughter and the legal system failed us, we would be taking measures into our own hands to get our grandkids! Praying for Maya to be found and the one responsible for her disappearance to be brought to justice! I cannot imagine what her kids are going through and what kind of lies their father is telling them about their mother and her family
5
Wait? Lori has a sister who died, too? How did I miss that?
5
@robertajohnson1663 I think she might have been referring to the fact that he was dishonorably discharged from the military before the airlines hired him. I agree that he should never have been given such responsibility for other people's lives with that looming over him.
5
I would imagine perhaps after SIX years have passed since his parent's death that the son has been able to harness his emotions in front of others. He also now has purpose in keeping a level head by telling his father's story.
4
FINALLY! The state finally got they're ducks in a row to assure these two get convicted of these heinous crimes!
4
The DA said that due to covid restrictions it took much longer to convene the grand jury.
4
I pray these jurors see right through his crap!

@slowburn7765 I've had the honor of being the wife of a LEO for almost 3 decades. Everyday my husband suits up, puts on that badge and leaves our home to protect and serve all the citizens of our community not knowing if he will come home each night. He's never had any complaints lodged against him. In the beginning, when he worked in the jail, detainees would thank him for treating them respectfully. Our LEOs run toward the danger. They are the ones you call when you feel in danger. Do not lump them all into a negative category. We all need to work toward change and listen to your valid concerns. We all need to accept one another as creations of God. I ask myself what kind of experiences with LEOs have you had to endure to make your heart hate so deeply. I harbor no ill will for your opinion, but I pray your heart will be softened by experiencing human kindness offered by those LEOs who truly have taken their oath to protect and serve to heart.
4
Yeah. I think that was a mistake on the defense's part. No human can watch that video and not be effected by it.
4
The judge said it will last 4 weeks.
4
I think James was wearing it when he shot her and he took it off and discarded it on his way home.
4
😢

@teresawicks9859 Ummm...I will have to find and review the interview, but I am pretty sure that he said that Derek Chauvin not testifying on his own behalf effected his decision making process. Not that it matters anyway. I think he went into it knowing for certain in his own mind that the officer was guilty. He had an agenda and won the jackpot on having the platform to help fulfill it. By the way, I think Chauvin is guilty of 2nd degree manslaughter. So don't go saying that I'm biased for the defense in this case.
4
Admit it!
4
@francelinamommyof3204 Yes, they've got an interpreter there for him.
3
💔🙏
3
Lori has been charged, too!
3
🤣🤣🤣🤣

@tressietes04 See, I have the unpopular opinion that this was not a case about race in it's initial context. They were responding to a call for criminal activity. The aftermath sparked a conversation that needs to be had, for sure, but the officers weren't engaged in racial profiling in my opinion.
3
@tressietes04 I just watched the body cam in the Autumn Steele case. I have no words!

@KenyanBunnie yes
