@TIK It's easy. The only significant difference is their dictators. Socialism in One Country was Stalin's mantra. That's National Socialism in a nutshell. As for Hitler, National Socialism, again. One could well argue that National Socialism is just about everywhere these days. It goes by different labels and has different priorities -- but most modern nations are HIGHLY socialistic based on pre-WWI norms. They are ALL over-run with national brainiacs who want and expect to direct national economic affairs -- just because they know better than the hoi polloi. Well, that's exactly where Stalin and Hitler came from. You see, it's all so 'scientific.' Today's latest craze is Global Warming// Climate Change -- which can only be resolved by centralizing even MORE economic authority. But, it's all for our benefit. With the arrival of the Allies, Germans found out that EVERYTHING they'd come to believe was a lie. With the end of the USSR, Russians found that EVERYTHING the'd been told was a lie. But who will save the West?

@TIK I've studied military history precisely because it's when all the marbles are in play, when people will do anything to get their way... I mean ANYTHING. It, military history, is where you find out how complex situations and complex decisions actually get resolved. It shows how tough it is to make correct decisions when information is corrupted and consequences are extreme. And, in the case of the 20th Century, the 77year war -- and the 17th Century, the Thirty Years War -- you have THE pivotal wars of humanity -- well, at least Western Culture. And, of late, Red China wants to revisit all of the old 'fun' as if nothing has been resolved.

@TIK I can't claim to have played the game. Though my Father played Buck Private 3D on D-Day. It was SUPER realistic.
