In talking about a "Pearl Harbor at Sea" why didn't you mention the Naval Battle of Malaya? The lose of the Prince of Wales and Repulse at sea, fully alert, and prepared for attack, served notice of the place of battleships in WWII. Those were good ships. No speculation needed. Just that is enough.

Is the HMS Pinafore on your list of requested reviews? (If not, why not? Is something wrong with you requestors?) I am assuming there was some concept of ship type in mind for the play. Wike has:"Gilbert made sketches of H.M.S. Victory and H.M.S. St Vincent and created a model set for the carpenters to work from.[" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c548RjB8jzQ

"strongest navy in earth" Hmm. May 1941. Was the Royal Navy the largest on the seas at that time? I THINK it was, due to new construction exceeding war time losses, but I don't have hard numbers on it. I don't think American construction had ramped up enough yet, and had started slightly behind. Japan had started at 60% (by treaty) and didn't have the shipyard capacity for a construction sprint.
