  1.  @jodie4609  With all due respect, I don't think you understand what's afoot here. Please study up on the US Constitution. Specifically, the 4th Amendment. As a free (cough) American, you can move about, uhm....freely. Cops cannot demand your 'papers' like they did in Germany, back in the 30s/40s. There has to be a CRIME. Of course, you can give up those rights, because you figure, "I've done nothing, and I've nothing to hide". But, the problem is, if enough people are bereft of any knowledge of said rights, power-tripping cops will become more brazen than they already are. ID's are like opioids to them. But, unless you've committed a crime, you owe them nothing in the form of identification. People are becoming more aware of that, and they don't like it. "You look like you MIGHT be a criminal. So, papers please?" That's not how this country works. Not at all. We have those rights for a reason. If you choose not to exercise those rights, fine. I have no issue with it. But you shouldn't have an issue with the ones who KNOW their rights and exercise them. Like an auditor said...."Rights are like muscles. If you don't use them, they go away". We cannot EVER let that happen. Cheers.
