  3.  @FontaineDerby No it wasn’t - the RPI was jettisoned many years ago in favour of the less generous CPI for the purposes of calculating increases in public sector pay, state pension and other benefits. When the correct measure of inflation is applied doctors pay since 2008 has only reduced by 9% in real terms although doctors pay should not be increased in line with inflation and 2008 is not a fair benchmark in any event.

  6. We train far too many in this country. We need to import more highly educated, properly trained doctors from overseas.

  7.  @isayit6054  The imports are an asset to the NHS - the problem is down to the new breed of poorly educated, badly trained, incompetent British doctors. Even Bulgaria has more rigorous entry requirements for medicine than dumbed down Britain and superior standards of training.
