  3. All of this could have been avoided if the government had made it illegal for doctors to strike after the junior whingers held the country to ransom in 2016. If consultants vote to accept the 12% offered and junior doctors accept 13% or more, every nurse, midwife, physiotherapist, radiographer, ambulance driver, paramedic etc. should down tools and demand an extra 6 or 7% at least on top of the 6% they accepted in July.

  4. Other countries can pick and choose and will select highly educated, properly trained, competent doctors which excludes the vast majority of British medics.

  5.  @J__oe  I don’t need to - I recall the controversial inflation busting pay rises ranging from 40 to 100% awarded to doctors by the Labour government between 2004 and 2008 and when these awards plus percentage pay rises between 2008 and 2022 are taken into consideration doctors and consultants are the only people to have received a real terms pay rise over the past 20 years. Everyone else has had a real terms pay cut.
