There’s a few real traditional villages in Shenzhen right next to the Hong Kong border doing way better than that . all that was done was it kept it’s land and built huge tower block apartments and rent them out the profit each year gets shared among its clan male and female but if you move away you don’t get a cut. The surplus funds has even had money left over to build apartments for the village clan women who never married to grow old in. Maybe the Chinese government should take a look at them clan villages that have been around before the Chinese government was even a thing them clans have been around for a few hundred years so must be doing something right

With the amount of Hong Kong government haters working for the government if it was fake it would be all over the internet. Look at Taiwan government it tried to cover up its deaths and the people who work in the coffin and death rituals industry outed them out
