  1. Since 1994, over 87% of domestic terrorist plots and attacks have been by right-wing or anti-government terrorists. Since 2001, the number of Americans killed by right-wing shooters and domestic terrorism is more than the number of Americans killed by all other forms of mass shooters and domestic terrorism combined. The Republican party is beholden to a Christian nationalist (overwhelmingly white) insurgent minority (20%-25%) because they deliver a disproportionate number of Republican votes. The reason the party allows itself to be beholden to this minority is the authoritarian outcome is welcomed by the majority of the membership. According to Pew polling from September 2022, 3 out of 4 Republicans want the United States of America turned into a Christian nationalist state, despite 2 in 3 knowing that would be wholly unconstitutional.
