One of the things (of the many) that amazes me is how even as a Medievalist you make staunchly superior Late Antique content than even the channels specialize about the era
13
This is the channel that we actually want
8
Omg man you made SO MUCH content on the Mamluks I had neither realized. This channel is ... beyond
7
We need more conversations like these. It may be that Youtube is specifically beyond repair in terms of hyper-condensed content that actually doesn't get to even a validly historically dialectical point: this paralyzes the actual research but also informs millions of people with a very dangerous mindset. Schwerpunkt do you have any sponsors?
7
It's sort of depressing how people go abruptly bananas for a (surely and still great) video about the Hanseatic League but when presented with a sophisticated historical analysis of Princely German elites with loads of references to international and local power struggle they're dully unresponsive. I'd run a background check on how many followers actually understand what this channel does, like a written test to at least make them unforgivably picture their intellectual lethargy
6
Even if you're a PhD, how do you know so much? Not even professors involved in disclosure cover this impressive range of information
6
The question is why one would even think that in the first place. There's never historically been any culturally/sub-culturally scientific or pseudo-scientific evidence about blonde or red hair being uncommon in the Italian peninsula: both historical and genetic sources speak clearly. I think the anti-Italian immigrant hatred in the US being the reason. The proof of how made up this is is the fact that Italy is actually the fairest people in the Mediterranean: you never hear this darkness overemphasized for the actually darker Portuguese or Bulgarians as opposed to the Italians. It's become embarrassing as well
6
Italy has objectively the most important Middle Ages together with France. Politics, warfare, society, art, economics
6
By far the best Mongol warfare playlist on Youtube. Incredible how people still think to be learning the Art of war from K&G, Invicta, Sandroman, etc.

I'm surprised by how easily you handle such vast strategic culture across the various Eras. Normally such content is expressed by an expert in a limited field but it seems that you have passed through all this scholarship and developed in parallel a completely brand new and thought-provocative History of your own. And that's insane either, as normally it's plenty of people who distort the past to their own benefit while you actually produce such view by sharpening the historical accuracy pertaining to all this subject matter. This video in itself is quite interesting as it highlights how much we seem to have given for granted through scholarship without having really studied the sources, the battles, the art of war. It's true, the world is clouded by cliches and most of them are a sort of paranoid/distrustful reaction to historical morality and science which instead does it like a boulder when it's expressed in your terms. This channel is as powerful as controversial and I'm sure you'll be growing like crazy as more people become aware of what you are really saying (admittedly, it's not easy for everybody but that's exactly the point).

You're the only person that has given a meaning to history for me.
5
Of all the quotes Horace and Tibullus' were the coolest! Thanks Schwerpunkt. I also don't understand how a person in the 21st century can ignore the loads of Latin literature or a basic genetic history of major Western countries. There was notoriously plenty of blue eyed and blonde and red haired people in Romano-Italic history.
5
No channel approaches this level of historical-tactical analysis
5
You're just at a completely different level of military-historical analysis. I genuinely believe that most people fail to understand it because they don't have the intellettive tools to
5
Your topic choice is always appreciated. This is not just an encyclopedia, it's also about the finesse of the military analysis. I love to think all these pieces add up to an organic picture.
5
I learned more on Medieval Italian warfare on these videos than in the entirety I've ever watched on YouTube
4
We need much more papal history
4
It's great that you included the scape-goating Judenzählung that instead proved how Jews were disproportionally fighting on the front lines more than the others so that the German High command had to cover it up as a consequence
4
Yes, how's that story? Every would-be pseudo-historical fantasy novelist has to write a fiction about 15th century Burgundy, while historically ignoring all the rest of Europe in time and place, regardless of the importance. Because it must be 15th century Burgundy.
3
Your swords series is magic. Not many can boast competence in such topics, I'm impressed
3
It's incredible how people watch Sandrhoman, K&G, Invicta, etc. and still think to be learning the Art of War and not some cheaply mashed script
3
Schwerpunkt is providing us with an influent amount of wealth
3
Which nobody does and we should be honest here: if only 100 subscribers shared every day on other channels, groups, pages, etc., the channel would get to the hundreds of thousands in a matter of weeks. Instead they prefer to let other "cheap history" channels running wide as their followers grow ever mentally weaker to even imagine there's excellence online
3
This is the only channel presenting military history seriously and/or at all. It's honestly baffling that no one achieves even remotely this level of (admittedly very high) competence.
3
This content is pure gold
2
The only military history channel I trust
2
How do you even know all this stuff
2
The most historically accurate and critically insightful content available. Real academic backbone
2
Probably the thing I like the most, aside from the fact that you covered in ultra depth a massive amount of Slavic history in your playlists, is how historically accurate you are beyond practically all content made either by Slavs and non-Slavs alike on YouTube. These videos should be watched in every school
2
Deliciously accurate content. You don't find this stuff even in specialized publishing
2
This is so beautiful, it made me cry. Thank you and Happy Easter!!!
2
You're the most militarily historical experienced person that I've ever listened to
2
You have an impressively accurate historical education

Your Crusades warfare content is so rich. Followers should share this content tens time every day
2
Schwerpunkt is leading us where the eagles fly
2
We're Schwerpunkt's foreign legion!
2
Never seen a better German history content
2
The only history channel that actually matters
2
Everybody tells you that Europe imported silk from the East. Only Schwerpunkt shows you how Europeans outproduced the East and exported silk there. This channel gives all the answers that I need to reconfirm my European pride
2
Fascinating. I am watching the other videos you made on slingers and I'm impressed by the historical accuracy. You have an incredibly diachronic understanding of how the Art of war works. Most channels would just scrap together a patchy script from random sources, making all the work for the animations and selling the cheap product. Here you make it feel great just through sheer historical analysis. Really the content for me
2
To all the followers: start sharing Schwerpunkt's content every day tens of times. We're gonna take over
2
Excellency made military history channel
2
Each picture is very spot on for the theme treated: landscapes, monuments, paintings, etc. are just phenomenally accurate and precise for the time and place
2
@koboldgeorge2140 It's the typical modern Anglo-American, structuralistic and mechanizedly-scholarly referencing approach that Schwerpunkt always highlights as an issue. There's indeed a need to expand the horizon and I'm glad that we have a valuable voice from a Continental European traditional historical approach
2
Your HRE playlist is impressive to say the least
2
Great piece of Medieval historical education
2
At this point in my life I've come to the realization that the first indicator of radical cultural inferiority is not knowing Italian history in depth. Masterpiece of a channel
2
The point is that after that video Metatron has lost any credibility (if he ever had one) about any trace of competence/knowledge in Latin literature: Schwerpunkt's list is as painful as revealing, as much as the disparity in following between a charlatan and an actual PhD who makes far more advanced, accurate and informed high-quality history content.
