  1. The "power people" in the DNC shit all over Bernie Sanders in 2016 just as they did with Henry Wallace in the 1940 election. Please, Thom, stop advocating for the Democratic Party. The Republican Party really sucks,, but the Democratic Party actually envies their "accomplishments". The stark reality is that exclusive political parties become juggernauts with minds of their own who no longer represent the masses they purport to defend. I know you know that. Why can't you say it out loud?

  2. Our two-party system is one of the biggest hoaxes ever perpetrated on a People. We the People have become enthralled with their collective and collaborative con-game. American elections are the equivalent of an elaborate pageant which only serves to help unwitting people believe they are beneficiaries of representative government. Just look at the education, healthcare and employment situation in this country and ask yourselves if We the People are truly being served? You can only assume one of two things : either they are the most incompetent administrators imaginable OR that our situation is INTENTIONAL! In either case they have proved themselves to be very bad guardians of the "common good". Remember that concept? The Common Good? It is a beautiful idea that Democrats and Republicans have collectively shat all over!

One last blast of reality : thousands of scientists from all over the world agree that we have collectively made an environmental suicidal mess of our planet, yet our Republican and Democratic "wise men" seem to ignore that stark reality while busily campaigning and collecting for their next election. HOW can we accept any of them as viable representatives of the "Common Good"?

A self-serving, oligarch by any other name is still EITHER a Democrat or Republican. The implication that the circumstances are otherwise is duplicitous. The individuals that are our "best and brightest" are not in government. They are, instead, immersed in science and medicine and astronomy and real-world, on-the-ground humanitarian philanthropy. NOT GOVERNMENT. Mark Twain recognized this phenomena over a hundred years ago and exposed the utter venality of their self-righteous assertions. Why do we continue to try to convince ourselves otherwise? Denial? Wishful thinking? Ignorance? Stupidity?

  6. "Activism" within the two-party paradigm only helps to perpetuate a system that has proven itself, over and over again, to not be genuinely representative of the needs and interests of the People. If it DID, would we be in the untenable, dysfunctional national quagmire we are now in?
