I truly believe that most people are unconscious "flat-Earthers". Your average citizen is intimately familiar with his town and local environment through trips to the store or to visit relatives. But very few people are capable of Imagining themselves or visualizing themselves as a tiny human speck standing on a relatively large ball floating in the unimaginable immensity of the Cosmos. I know that if they could experience a moment like that it would be an epiphany for them. I have personally had that experience. The first time was aboard a 30-foot sailboat half-way between Hawaii and Tahiti. to date is was the most "spiritual" moment of my life
