  1. I believe you to be a genuinely good man and a knowledgeable raconteur of American politics throughout history. I can only conclude that your blatant cheer-leading for the Democratic Party is a knee-jerk defensive reaction against the voracious monster that the Republican Party is in the process of actually becoming. I believe that your time would be better spent talking about the huge difference between the story America likes to tell about itself, compared to what it actually now IS. Our arrogant excesses and over-reaches on the global stage are the result of the combined efforts of our oligarchic representatives in collusion with the monied few. The American People are barely an afterthought. We the People have become merely a "negative externality" when compared to the global pot of gold on other shores. That is the truth. You know it. Why will you not speak it?

  2. The term "jobs" is ill-defined in this analysis. Viable living-wage jobs with benefits and a future ( like we used to believe in) have become scarcer and scarcer for the working Man. Your use of the term "jobs" is mere statistical frippery and political horse shit. Your cheerleading for the Democratic Party is specious on its face. Collectively, our government - Republicans and Democrats alike - have thrown a large portion of the American People right under the bus. Has your own privilege blinded you to the stark realities around you? Remember NAFTA?
