  1. Man's arrogance is the source of our own demise. We were convinced historically by our naive forebearers that "Man is the center of all things" and that "Man shall have dominion over all the Earth..." That presumption was the source of our current crisis. Instead of understanding that we, the human species, are merely one aspect of creation itself, we believed that it was "all about US". I challenge everyone to imagine an Earth where humans never existed. All other biological, meteorological and geological factors remaining the same. Just no humans. At this very instant in time the Earth would resemble the pristine "garden of Eden" of christian mythology were it not for human intervention! I would go so far as to assert that Man has proven himself to be little more than a pernicious invasive species. It is an ugly truth. Do the thought experiment for yourself. Imagine a planet Earth where humans never existed. I dare you.

  2. As a footnote I would just like to make note of the fact that the Earth itself is a 4.5 BILLION-year-old entity that has evolved slowly and symbiotically over eons.. A mere 300 thousand years ago - almost "yesterday" in geological terms - "Man", homo sapiens, arrived. Then in a biological/geological "blink of an eye" we homo sapiens have single-handedly placed ALL OF CREATION in dire, existential jeopardy. We alone. Not one single other member of all of creation except for US! Ponder THAT reality. I beg you.
