  1. Lots of excuses in the comments. The bottom line is the same reason for the unhealthiness in these states is also the same for the poverty: lack of education. The appalling lack of concern for education in these states is causing pain, suffering, and death. Does that even move the needle for these people? Not even a little. Sad! Southeast Asia is as hot(or hotter) and as humid(or more humid) than the US south and they are not massive blobs. They have easy access to food, they just don't overeat and eat massively unhealthy food day in and day out. Same thing in the Caribbean. Enough of the excuses. Sadly, I lived in the south for 4 years(outside of Savannah being the furthest north). Still kept in shape instead of laying around and making excuses.
