Manuela I still don’t believe that, lol. I’ve been playing online since the beginning of Xbox live and everyone is treated equally in terms of insults, because most online players are trolls.

kiwangaroo : Girls online get more perks because of flirting, or they get insults. Males however just get insulted. My experience is literally hundreds of hours playing many online multiplayer games, and I’ve talked to people from around the world. So again, getting mistreated is extremely common because the online communities are always toxic. It doesn’t matter the gender, either mute or become a troll yourself.

Manuela It’s really not a big deal, everyone exaggerates because they haven’t had enough online play to really grasp how online communities work. What you’re saying has nothing to do with how toxic the online communities have always been.

It’s definitely propaganda. I’ve been playing games all my life, and the online community never cared about any of that.

I disagree. I’ve been playing since the beginning of Xbox live. With girls, it’s just flirting or insults. For the males, it’s pure insults. Again, I’ve played so many online games that this stigma is false, the online communities always have trolls.

That’s how it is. I’ve been playing since the beginning of Xbox live. I’m a male who’s been insulted by every word, lol, you shouldn’t take it serious, they’re all trolls. You also have to realize it depends on the game you’re playing, most of the players could be kids or teens.

That’s not true at all. I’ve been playing online since the beginning of Xbox live. Everyone gets insulted because most online players are trolls. It has nothing to do with being misogynistic.

Kate What games are you playing? Obviously they’re messing with your head if they’re saying silly things like that. Anyone can play games.

@KatyVLOGS12 Just seems like toxic players to me. OW especially has a really bad community. I don't play multiplayer games anymore, but you shouldn't take it seriously. Also, if you're playing ranked games, it might not be as bad.

Manuela See, I’m not sure about the gatekeeping aspect because my sister got me into games, back in the 90s. I know that gaming has always been male dominated, but I do understand the issues since I’ve been playing since the beginning of online play with the consoles. I know girls get treated differently when they start to talk, however you have many options to get out of that situation. Nonetheless, you can still enjoy the online experience depending on the game you’re playing.
