@crackedpistachio6001 Because they're essential every month for a women/girl who bleeds during their menstruation? It's definitely not free in the US, but they should be given out at certain facilities if someone can't afford them. I feel the same about condoms and birth control.

I'm curious, but has a male friend ever talked to you about menstruation? Has a male gotten uncomfortable talking about female anatomy and bodily fluids? I do agree with how pads and similar products should be tax-exempt and given out free at certain facilities. I'm a dude and I never got a free condom, unless it was from a friend.

You’re trying to have an argument with me when I already clarified what I was saying, and obviously you didn’t care to read the rest. I totally understand the value and importance of a pad or tampon. All I said, from my experience as a male, is that I never received a condom from anyone other than a friend. A condom is still something that is essential if you’re having sex with a stranger, or your partner if need be. I’m not downplaying anything. I am 100% for safety and necessities, as I said. I don’t think anyone has read when I said “tampons should be tax-exempt”. Which means in all states, not just the few.

Danny Silva No, I’m saying from before, you said “condoms are only used for sex”, like it’s simple, lol. Condoms are used to prevent STDs and pregnancies. Being “clean” won’t stop a pregnancy. A condom is important, and a tampon is important. They’re used differently and I don’t think tampons should taxed...which is what I said.

Tereza Plaisir You brought up the condom situation when it’s my experience, and condoms are important in its own respect. Your “points” didn’t prove anything. Also, if you’re taking to a male who makes jokes about menstruation, they obviously have a child’s mentality. There’s nothing funny when you’re constantly bleeding and have horrible cramps once a month.

That's on you to read what I said, or be a better writer. It all depends on the brand if they cost less. Also, it's called "tax-exempt". I did say in the beginning that they should be free at "certain facilities", didn't I? Again, this isn't an argument...I'm not disagreeing with anything. However, it's the US, we can't even afford healthcare and education, I'm not sure when the federal government will justify these issues as human rights and fix them. This country is a corporatocracy, which is why nothing is up to standards.

I'll give you a few references: look up the Spanish-American War, where we became an empire, and when we killed more than two thousand of our own troops because we hired American contractors who didn't care (the real war was ourselves, not the Spanish.) Those same, corrupt contractors killed many troops during the Civil War, where the corruption really began. Opium Wars: British used the Chinese for profit by using opium as their main source. Europeans and Americans made a fortune. In fact, most of our railroads were built because of that money. Now, the chinese are making the profit off us by their synthetic drugs. The Wall Street Crash: the Great Depression was created by monopolies in the US, which again, was by rampant capitalism. I could go on forever, but I can't talk too much about history, or my comments get deleted. Which means I can't get to the good parts, lol.

@aud_balez The thing is, past empires acted the same way with their atrocities. The only difference is the use of chemical warfare. There's not many things I can admire since I'm a historian. You kinda have to be cynical towards your own government to really want change.

Legends Never Die Thank you for acknowledging this! I don’t understand how a condom, which deals with sexual organs, is somehow not important all of a sudden? Just because the tampon is very important for personal hygiene, we should disregard the condom now? Not only is it “sexist”, it’s also ignorant. We should value all these products equally, because again, it’s related to human rights.

I take back what I said about condoms not being a necessity, because they definitely are. @Holly Wood was being arrogant, and I don’t agree with her opinion on the condom not being as important. They’re equally important. Condoms are used to prevent pregnancy and STDs. Men are responsible for putting it on, and adhering to the women if she wants to use protection. Nothing is 100%, lol, but again, they’re all necessary.

Tereza Plaisir Condoms are universally important. Think about unprotected sex? Think about the repercussions that come with it. It’s not about having sex daily, it’s about respect and dignity towards your partner. It’s about the situation in general. Of course you hold them to a higher standard, because you depend on them daily, as you said, for most of your life. But it doesn’t change the fact that they should be ignored or thought to be less important. Therefore, they should both be handled the same way in terms of accessibility. It’s all about common sense, respect and human rights.

All the terminologies you hear causally talked about, is not associated to the actual terms. They’ve been corrupted and manipulated from the original intent. I never denied the use of tampons being a necessity, did I? All you have to acknowledge, is that condoms, tampons, pads, birth control, etc, should be equally valued and be accessible to the population. That’s it.

MR_SUGAS_FIRE It has nothing to do with being cheaper, it has to do with being accessible, especially to those who are poor. “Abstinence is a free option”. Those are very ignorant words. Unfortunately, the world doesn’t function like that. You should really educate yourself if you believe in what you said is true.

Anna Exactly! That’s what I said, lol. I literally said that it’s really the men’s responsibility to put on the condom, because most of the time I’m sure the women has to remind the dude to put it on. Obviously the individuals who are not respecting the usage of a condom, is not educated about the benefits of preventing STDs (at one point HIV/AIDS being an epidemic in the US) and pregnancy. There’s people who make the excuse of “pulling out” before a climax...and that’s completely ineffective. And if you do climax, if the girl isn’t on birth control, you have to buy a morning-after pill, which is expensive. So, as you said, there shouldn’t be a “tier” level of which one is more useful than the other, when they’re all important in their own way.
