@zackfiat607 S China Sea claim was started by ROC (Taiwan0. It was also in the ROC constitution. The sea claim is bit too much but in th1910 there is no such thing as EEZ. But the island claim is legit ROC still has troops on those islands since 1945.

There is a civil war that was not resolved. During American civil war, the south did not have a choice either.

@multistan9582 That is the red line isn't it?. China has no choice, they considered them still at war. But US do have a choice. US don't really care about Taiwan, their goal is to isolate China and prevent its rise. Biden said so himself. Jf you haven't notice the soft war has already started. There are 4 bills in congress essentially declared Taiwan independency symbolically. I ahte to see what happen when it passes.

@multistan9582 You are still not getting it. It is an UNRESOLVED civil war. Just because CCP has not set fooy in Taiwan does not mean iy has ended. Taiwan still has troops on islands that are part of Fujian province. So ROC still has a foot in China. And Taiwan still has thousands of artifact stolen by KMT in Taiwan. People still have families across the strait. The Taiwan air defense zone part of it is in China territory. How does that work ? Taiwan is going to defend China now. This is a lot more complicated. US is not going to defend Taiwan. They will just blow up TSMC and call it a day.
