  5.  @ginxxxxx  No one is mining US REM because it is a money losing proposition. The US mine is currently idle. The mining is not environment sensitive, only the processing is. The pollutant is nasty. It is a radio active gas. You need to be able to handle that.

  12.  @timeverson728  How much is the CHIPS act? Why is Germany subsidizing TSMC and BYD? This is common practice to attract investment. US is even subsidizing a Chinese battery company in FL. What is your source? Did it count US state subsidy, farm subsidy,.The healthcare subsidy alone is 2.5T. There is also solar subsidy. Amazon alone get 7B in subsidy. So quit the BS.

  13.  @timeverson728  I don't know what you are googling. My Google showed OECD estimate China spent 224B in subsidy. Then I google US the Federal government spent 100B in 2022 on business subsidy. This does not include local subsidy and farm subsidy or healthcare subsidy. Amazon get 7B from NY and WA. And farm subsidy is about 20B. Health insurance get the most. I am not even counting the big ticket item. COVID business subsidy is 350B. The 2006 Tarp cost 700B. The CHIP act bill subsidy is over 200B. The accounting is not in for the inflation reduction act yet. You need to learn to google or understand US subsidy. I have not even throw in the healthcare subsidy yet. Everyone do subsidy. They just subsidize differently. Do you consider NIH a subsidy?

  14.  @timeverson728  I am not sure what you are talking about. I think some how the EV is somehoe difference, I don't know enough to comment. From my reading the battery is half the cost of EV. That means the engine is substantially different and cheaper. Maybe that is why EU asking for technology transfer.

  16. Yoy must have a lot of time on your hand. What you said is largely true. I just want to add. For API US tried to fund Kodak yp make the stuff. That did not end up well. For REM they won't do a thing until they are in severe shortage. For example, Antimony is key component to AMMO. US can'y convince anyone to mine it. DOD is now doing its own mining. REM is a bit more difficult if you don't have the technlogy. Because it generate deadly radioactive gas.
