  1. I move to Thailand in 2013 at the age of 41 for ongoing medical problems turning 51 this year. I was diagnosed with Lupus with Catastrophic Antiphospholipid Syndrome which is an aggressive blood clot disorder that is hard to manage being life threatening at times. Back home in America seeing multiple specialist and hospitalized was eating away at my hard earned savings fast even with having Medicare not able to work anymore. I was about a 6-7 in looks making six figures with health and aging causing them to fade away. I am packing a little extra down stairs knowing how to lay some pipe which probably gave me some extra points having no problem with women before my illness. I could read the writing on the wall of my future in Virginia so I looked for other options. I left before I became broke and with no one wanting me probably dying alone back home. I have had many extra blessings including marriage in Thailand giving back in return to the community in my ten years as an expat. If you go to a local government hospital not privatized you can save a ton of money. I can see a doctor, test, and 25 prescriptions for $45 a month yon can try that back home. Younger men have trouble meeting visa requirements with having stable income overseas living as a expat. Most people arguments about overseas become invalid with the same happening back in their own country. You have bad people all over the world thankfully being the minority in different countries with the media over dramatizing everything these days. All I can tell anyone who wants to become an expat is to do their own research on what options are available to them. Meet people who you vibe who will help answer your questions maybe buying them a cheap meal or beer in return to thank them if wanted. Always set smaller goals reaching a bigger goal that you desire. Good men who lives overseas could care less what others think about them. If someone labels us we will wear it as a badge of honor living a better life for less money. A person life choices determines their own happiness or regrets. I personally can not tell anyone how to live their life just try to be happy with no regrets in your decisions. I can say no where is a perfect paradise but I am very happy in Thailand with no regrets. What more could I ask out of living a wonderful life ?
