@malakatan3235 Unfortunately ARVN just didn't have the numbers and popular support to make that a reality, but that said it was just a meatgrinder and it was just better for it to be over than to be used as shooting gallery for Sino/Soviet arms and US arms for another decade after 1975.

@malakatan3235 Plenty of Americans wanted nothing to do with the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. Just as plenty of Russians want nothing to do with the war in Ukraine. At the same time, how can you possibly be against sanctioning Russia for invading Ukraine?

@Slavaisusukhrystu False analogy. Murder is a crime. Cancelling is not. The Dixie chicks have no right to have their music played anywhere. Maines should have known what the price of that freedom of speech would have likely been given her the demographics of people she's playing for. The offended country music fans also had their freedom of speech, thus the cancellation.

Kirk Wolfe Freedom means the freedom to cancel others. That's what democracy looks like. As a private company you have no obligation to platform Nazis, racists, hate speech, etc.

@malakatan3235 America is far too supportive of Israel and it's abuses of power against Palestinians. No doubt that nearly all petrostates have deplorable human rights records.

@malakatan3235 There is no doubt that racism has played a big part in previous US and European Imperialism. All the same the US is going to defend it's NATO neighbors.
