Russia knows alot more about that than the US 😂😂 Secondly, what you said doesn't dispute what I said. Control by proxy is not the same as annexation. Russia is a great power right? So they can't handle NATO and Ukraine at the same time? Why didn't Russia lobby Turkey to make them refuse NATO membership to Finland?

@joek600 well Sweden and Finland did all the dancing so I could care less 😂😂 Russia had leverage over turkey. They were still very much interested in trade with Russia despite the sanctions and Russian military equipment (S400). Lobbying Turkey absolutely was an option. And it wasn't just Turkey. Russia could have also lobbyed Hungary or Slovakia to not allow those countries in under the threat of military action of NATO on their borders was really an issue. Russia had options that didn't involve war. . The fact is the NATO talking point is a pathetic excuse. And it's old and stale

@joek600 if you don't want me to keep repeating the same point then grasp the essence of what is being said here. Russia had leverage over many major European nations, Turkey and Germany specifically. Even you discount the smaller European countries, Germany was to big for Brussels to threaten then them. And Germany needed Russian energy. Turkey didn't need Russian weapons, but they very much desired Russian trade. They literally needed it. He absolutely would have vetoed Sweden and Finland if it was a choice between that and trade. Turkey doesn't need Finland. Or Sweden. All Russia needed was one country to veto. They could have even threatened war. Why didn't they? Russia had options. All your excuses won't change that fact
