Russians did not have and still do not have troop numbers to hold such a wide front line. What would you do if you had say 9000 troops, most of them national guard and a front line of well over 200km??? You can only do pin point defense. But you units are spread out super think. You barely have 1000 men on 20km front, probably far less in most areas. In Kherson the front is also long but troop quality is higher and troop numbers are well over 1000 per 10km. Closer to 1500 per 10k. I.e. you have 3x as many troops as in Kharkiv. Additionally you have much better troops.

They may do that - but that still means they loose the war.

Yes, near Zaporozia - either left or right side as there is nothing in the middle. This time around I think Russia will have better troop numbers and should be able to stop any offensive. As for Kharkiv the 8k or so surviving troops out of at most 9k are behind the river and reinforced by at least 10k troops from the front of Kharkiv. So their front is at least half of what it was but troop numbers are 2x higher == 4x fire power.

LOL, Russia had just a screening force there, so no traffic jam b/c there was almost no one there. There are no 1000s of POWs - maybe a 100 - and Russia also captured around a 100 b/c... well, there was no one to capture. Most screening units retreated even before there was any major contact. There is no encirclement. There are no 100s of vehicles abandomed as screening forces did not have 100s of vehicles to abandom - they would not have had enough drivers for such vehicles (!). There were way less then 10,000 Russians there in the Izium front. At least another 10,000 if not more in front of Kharkiv - these forces were not needed and were withdrawn without any issues. Russian bloggers knew of Ukrainian attack coming near Kharkiv. Right now the next attack is known to occur in Zaporozia - either left or right side but not middle. Most likely right hand side. Ukraine already transferred there at least 150 tanks.

Same thing was said in Berlin in 1942 ;)

@高若嵩-t6r In 1970s as well, remember Soviets created marvels of tech such as T-64 - the very first tank with composite armor and superior sensors, such as laser range finder.
