  11. Currently no need for large activations. Russia activated over 500 tanks of all types from storage. Aviation use is low b/c Russia is not taking well losses. Their current losses in air frames are less than 70.

  13.  @keithgraham9547  The proven losses are under 70 air frames for Russia and under 50 for Ukraine. Seems very realistic to me. Russia could not afford to loose say 200 as that is what they deployed initially. The UA losses are very high but we no longer see too much UA air-force - for months now - so makes sense.

  26.  @johnkendall6962  Their will may hold but their luck of man power & equipment will make them crack - as we slowly starting to see now. Germany had high spirits - not a sign of cracking - but you don't win wars with spirit alone - at least not total wars (not victory of the Taliban over US army was based on will power 99%). Main US losses in Afghanistan and Vietnam were due to US simply wanting too much - notice how Russia is not doing that at all - they concentrate their efforts on land where they have majority of popular support & even that is just a bonus with real goal being stopping NATO.

What would that accomplish exactly other than massive losses and costs? Russian aim is clear. Stop expansion of NATO onto Ukraine. The western will - given their costs - can last a very long time - wearing them out may only be "economical". A far better strategy is to simply wear out Ukraine - this stuff is showing very good promise - Ukraine has been for a while a failed state. People are running away. Cities have no power. Economy does not exist. How long do you think with massive losses on the battlefield this will last - fight for NATO?

Most of Ukraine aid is in the form of light armor - its totally out gunned by Russia. With better equipment and incoming parity in numbers there is little chance. Even if NATO sent better stuff Russia would simply mobilize more. There is simply no winning militarily for Ukraine & it is clear that she lost on all other fronts - country is in ruins, people run away, etc. I expect slow liberation of Donbass by Russian forces to keep up pressure on Ukraine government and to give her huge nose bleed with massive losses.

I fully expect that if Ukraine does not go for terms Russia will control Donbass - all of it - within a year. There is no "hurry" - let idiots die.

  48.  @Achill101  To be safe from both - Ukraine will try to show it can still fight and Russia will do something small as to not kill off Ukraine yet. Essentially Ukraine is too weak and Russia does not want to win too big - it is happy to destroy Ukraine infrastructure, let her people run, just general destruction of the enemy - offensive may stop that. BUT the other Moscow school wants to push Ukraine to negotiate --- offensive --- so we see who wins.

  49.  @Achill101  I would take that bet. Ukraine is waiting for a miracle. This is it. Russia, without any miracles is on a clear path to total victory. Their conditions for victory are very modest while conditions for Ukraine are touch smaller than taking Moscow. Conditions for victory of RF - knock Ukraine out of NATO membership. Conditions for Ukraine - regain all territories from before 2014. Russia now has almost parity in troop numbers, has vast superiority in equipment in both quality and quantity. They have multiple options of winning this. They have devastated Ukraine as a country. Russia also managed to shield its economy from western sanctions. How is it possible for Ukraine to win? they are out numbered population wise more than 5 to 1. They have no electric power. They are a failed state. Russia can continue this war for decades - do you think Ukraine can survive for say few more years? At current casualty rates they run out of troops in less than 5 years.
