  1. Any chance that this could escalate to include China? Supply and demand. Russia is a huge part of international energy supply. The biggest part of international energy demand is China. In an imperial era or in the chaos of the aftermath of the American-led order, an obvious solution to counter a disruption in supply would be to respond with an even bigger disruption in someone else's demand. Ideally, you'd pick on someone who is disliked, and China certainly fits the bill there.
